I have been doing some fun DIY projects on the weekends and I feel like they help me to slow down. One thing I love about crafting and painting, all of life’s stresses seem to disappear. There is something about working with my hands to create something that puts me in a good mood. Anyone with me on that? And nothing beats seeing the finished product knowing you made it!
A couple projects I’ve done – I found FREE printable botanical prints from Blesser House that I framed and put in our guest bath. I bought unfinished wood frames that I chalk painted black and distressed. They turned out beautifully! Secondly, I followed a DIY guide on Magnolia Market’s Blog to make clay plant stakes.
Both projects were quick, easy, and inexpensive (SCORE!). Brett (my husband) wasn’t so sure about the botanical prints at first but when I finished them and we hung them in the bathroom he was amazed at what a difference it made. Our guest bath felt cold as it didn’t have any décor. Putting these three frames on the wall and a couple hooks made the world of difference. As for the plant labels, I was in the middle of the project when a friend came over. She saw what I was making and we stopped what we were doing and went up to Hobby Lobby to get some clay for her to make some too. That project was a little more tedious but boy are they adorable! I plan to make a few more sets for Mother’s day gifts this year.
I’ve shared pics of both finished products below as well as a few recent house pics.
