A special thanks to Walmart for sponsoring this post.
Traveling with a baby/toddler can sound daunting! When we travel with our 19 month old, I feel like I pack her entire nursery into a suitcase. As I mentioned before, our families live 3+ hours away so we’ve become somewhat of experts when it comes to traveling with a baby.
After our three hour road trip a couple weeks ago for Thanksgiving, I compiled a cheat sheet to share with y’all to make family traveling with a baby a little bit easier.

What to Pack for Baby / Toddler:
- Diapers – These are the diapers we use (they are safe, non-toxic, and chlorine-free). I always calculate how many I will need per day, then add an extra days worth – You never know when a blowout might occur
- Wipes – You can never have too many wipes. I usually bring a pack in baby’s bag and my diaper bag.
- Disposable Changing Pad – These are great to keep in your diaper bag in case you need to change baby’s diaper in a public restroom (gross!)
- A bib
- Blanket
- Bottles – If need be
- Sippy Cups
- Books / small toys!
- Hand sanitizer
- Baby body wash / Shampoo – This is the shampoo / body wash we use on Bennett. It smells so good and is a great non-toxic shampoo/ body wash.
- Portable cooler for food
- Snack cup – I love these because baby can take food out, but it doesn’t spill if tipped over.
- Toddler bowls and utensils
- Disposable placemats – I keep these in my diaper bag at all times. They are so nice to use at restaurants!
- Pack n’ Play / Portable Crib – We also travel with a pack n’ play mattress and fitted sheet so baby isn’t sleeping on the pack n’ play board
- Car seat – If you are flying and need to bring your car seat with you – HERE is a car seat travel bag with wheels
- Portable high chair
- Monitor – This monitor is a great portable option to take with you any and everywhere!
- White noise machine – This is a great white noise machine because it’s portable!
- All necessary clothes and food!
Walmart Baby has a TON of great baby products for traveling and everyday life! I have found that they have all the brands I love and a great selection. I am picky when it comes to non-toxic products and they’ve got it all. Definitely check Walmart when planning your next trip or creating your baby registry (if you’re expecting)!
I hope y’all aren’t thinking you are never leaving the house now that you’ve read through this list! Once you travel one time with your little one you’ll realize it isn’t so bad – You just have to be prepared, that’s all!
All you experienced mommas – Is there anything I left off the list! Let me know in the comments!
Thanks, friends!
Jamie
