I’m happy to say, we can officially cross a new front door off our “Things We’d Like to do to Our House” list!
This last week we installed a new craftsman style front door. Brett and I agreed from the moment we started “front door shopping” that we wanted a craftsman style door. It offers windows / natural light while still providing privacy. We ordered the door from a local shop called McCray Lumbar and stained it in a dark walnut gel stain (to match our hardwood floors).
With the new door came new trim and hardware which completed the look! The Davos hardware from Emtek is sleek and modern and amazing quality. They let us order a flat black finish on the outside and oil-rubbed bronze on the inside (to match our existing interior hardware).
Here’s a little before and after action for y’all! Our front porch has changed dramatically since we bought the house – See for yourself!

So tell me – What do y’all think? Quite the transformation, huh?
What’s next on our list? New windows! Our windows are over 70 years old so it’s been a long time comin’. I’ve got my eye on black exterior frames – I think it’ll look amazing with our DIY exterior shutters.

I love the brick porch also! Is that stamped concrete, or did you replace with actual brick? We just got new siding and shutters, next is the door! I compromised on the shutters, I wanted real wood, so at least I can get a real wood door! Thanks for posting! Oh, I wanted to say…I read the title and thought “mindfully gray” was the color of door! My hubby was like, duh, no!! Lol!

Hi .. are the windows on the door see through ? From the outside looking in it looks like it has a mirror like look “ beautiful “ ! But from the inside looking out looks like you can see clearly ?

It’s beveled glass so it looks a little like a mirror from the outside but yes – it’s see through!
