Going down to the basement we have a huge stairwell (obviously). I wanted to fill this wall without making it look pieced together or too clutter-y. Every so often I do art projects with Bennett (when I’m feeling brave) – Her “Art” is super abstract but perfect for a gallery wall!
Whenever we tackled these projects I always pick the colors – That way I can get a good mixture of colors and ensure they work with the space (since I plan on displaying them). This spring we did a variety of different projects to fill the gallery wall.
The first project we did, I stamped her hand on canvas paper with yellow paint and turned it into a giraffe (her favorite animal).
For the next project we used painters tape on canvas paper to tape off lots of sections and lines (this project is all over Pinterest if you need more details on how to tackle it). I had Bennett paint all over the paper with brushes and her hands. Warning: bath is required after this one! After it dried I took the tape off and had art!
The next project was one I did without Bennett’s assist. 😉 I used a q-tip to stamp dots in an ombré design. A follower actually sent me a picture of artwork available from Minted that had a similar look. I loved the look and knew I could recreate it. I did one piece in warm tones and one in cool tones to be hung one on top of the other.
I still needed quite a few more pictures for the wall so I used an app called Waterlogue to turn a few pictures into watercolor images! I found that bright, colorful images turn out the best! I used a few pics of Bennett and one of Tucker!
The combination of watercolor images and kid’s art turned out so cute! I put all the pieces in these white frames with a white mat to give it a clean modern look.
As you can tell – this area is impossible to photograph (the lighting is tricky)! Hope y’all get a good grasp of how the gallery wall turned out and picked up a few fun project ideas to try with your little ones!

Thanks, friends!
