We FINALLY made over our girl’s bathroom (that also doubles as the hall / guest bathroom). This project was a long time coming! When designing this space I knew I wanted the big ticket / permanent items (tile, vanity, etc) to be classic and timeless but I also wanted the space to feel colorful with a touch of whimsy since it’s the girl’s bathroom! Seeing the space finished – I think we nail it!
Before I reveal the space – let’s take a stroll down memory lane! Here’s the space BEFORE…
I first decided on this 5” marble hex tile from Riad tile. They have SO many tile options I love, including their zellige *drool* and cement tile *swoon*. I paired the marble tile with a honed subway tile in the shower. I decided on a vertical brick pattern on the shower walls to make the space feel taller. The inset in the shower is my favorite and so practical! I also went with this brass shower system. It’s an aged brass look that looks amazing with the subway tile. Lastly, we ditched the old cast iron tub and opted for this tub!
The next big ticket item was this grey vanity. I had to find a piece that was 42” wide which limited my search but I love the classic grey color and quartz counter top. I updated the hardware and faucet and it turned out so good!! To add some texture I put this round wood mirror (super affordable) over the vanity and this amazing sconce from Shades of Light!! This light is perfect! It’s modern, and lets off a ton of light! Our last light fixture wasn’t filtered light so it cast a lot of shadows and you couldn’t look at it directly without hurting your eyes. This one comes with bulbs that are warm and bright!
I was set on mixing metals in here, as well. I feel like every room needs a touch of black. In here I put a black curtain rod, black wall hooks, and black frames. Since this is the girl’s bathroom I put fun, girly art in the frames! I added a flower vase and a fun pink bath mat I put out when bathing them. The shower curtain also adds color! It pairs perfectly with these blue Turkish towels.
The last big change we made to this space – We ditched the sliding barn door. The old door offered no privacy and was loud! Our contractor put in a pocket door with this hardware from Emtek. It’s sleek and modern. I love the matte black color and it has a button you push to make the handle come out, making it easy to open and close. Our front door hardware is from Emtek as well and the quality is superior! I can’t say enough great things about their products.
This bathroom overhaul took our contractor a week. I am so pleased with the end result! It feels timeless and classic yet the details (shower curtain, towels, etc) make it feel bright and girly for our two littles!

We are looking to do pretty much the same exact reno as you, but our contractor said it would take 4 weeks, which made the labor costs outrageous. We declined. Thank you for the example I can show our next contractor for quote purposes 😁 the new room looks great!!
Jamie says
That’s crazy!!! It looks exactly a week and labor only was around $5,000.

Stunning renovation, using your bathroom as my guiding star for our hallway renovation.
Can you share the details on the knobs on the vanity!!! They go so well with the pulls.

I love the vanity. I was looking for a blue because I loved the gold accents with that color in your picture & then saw it was actually grey. It looks like a blueish color in the picture! Was curious about that
Jamie says
It is a blue-gray in my opinion!

Where did you get the knob pulls on the vanity? I see you linked the pulls, but didn’t link the knob pulls. TIA!

I love the lamp in the bathroom. Where can I buy it, please? Tks!
