The holidays are quickly approaching, you guys! I think I saw on social media there are only 8 more Fridays until Christmas (WHAT!?) It seems like year round we have a steady stream of guests at our house. Our family all lives 3+ hours away from Kansas City so when family comes to visit, they usually stay the night to make it worth the drive / flight.
All that to say, we have to have a guest-ready bedroom 24/7! Fortunately, the guest bedroom is my favorite room in the house for that reason – It is always guest-ready / not lived in! SPOTLESS. As of late, the guest bedroom has become even more-so a peaceful retreat. I received a few items from Serena & Lily to refresh our guest bedroom. Serena & Lily has best-in-class bedding and bath products! New towels, sheets, pillows, and more. I also made a few small changes to make the space extra cozy for fall!
Here are a few tips to make your guest bedroom guest-ready!
Double Stuff your Duvet Cover
For starters, the duvet insert I had on the bed was super thin. I ended up putting two duvets in the new duvet cover to make it extra voluptuous! Side note: Why did I wait so long to do this?! *Mind blown* I also threw my throw pillow inserts in the dryer with two tennis balls for a couple minutes to fluff them!
This lumbar adds a nice touch of “fall” to the space and has so much texture.
Look at that texture! I am loving this coverlet at the foot of the bed – It’s amazing quality and lightweight (so your feet don’t get too toasty at night).
Add a Mirror to the Space
Next, I swapped out our three small triangle mirror shelves for this one large wall mirror! Now guests can easily see themselves and/put makeup on, etc. Also, this mirror is amazing. I am already envisioning it going in Bennett’s big girl room one day.
Put out Waters & Snacks
I also put a tray on the bed with waters and a couple treats! I put granola bars for this setting, however you could bake something and put the treats in bags to keep them fresh for a couple days!
These towels are so plush and soft! I also love this bath mat – It’s thick and versatile.
Make Spare Toiletries Easily Accessible
In our guest bathroom I have a drawer full of hotel size toiletries for guests to use. I also keep full-size shampoo, conditioner, and body wash stocked in our guest shower. This way, guests don’t have to ask if we have extra shampoo, etc – it’s out in the open! Honestly, as a guest, I hate having to ask for a spare fill in the blank. I prefer to access something myself to avoid inconveniencing someone else!
I also think having a clean set of towels out for guests is a nice touch – These towels are so plush and perfect for guests!
Share your WiFi Info
Lastly, I set out a sign in the guest room with our WiFi name and password! As a guest, I love when people have this out (and when it’s not super complicated).
Serena & Lily has the best selection of bed & bath products! I feel like our guest bed and bath are hotel level now! Clean, crisp towels and sheets, black out shades – It’s no wonder guests sleep until 10am when they visit! The best part – Serena & Lily’s Sleep Well event is happening right now! That means, up to 30% off bedding and beds through 10/28.
Here are a few of my favorite items from Serena & Lily!
