This is a room I NEVER share. You see, this room is a replica of my room when I was single. My house back then was a lot more girly, with a lot more color. Prepare yourself.
BEFORE: BEFORE:Y’all are probably thinking – “Uhh, why am I following this girl??” Say no more. I get it. The good news – My style has changed a lot since my single days and I’m hoping to change this bedroom to reflect my new style and the rest of our house. I feel like I can transform this room without breaking the bank by swapping out a few items – It is a guest room, afterall. Here are all the items I’m thinking:
I learned when designing our living room – An inexpensive way to transform a room is through new throw pillows. We have a neutral color palette in the living room – I added a touch of blue / indigo and more modern look just by changing up our throw pillows. Easy peasey! In the guest room, I plan on doing the same.
Here’s what I’ve come up with for the space (as told by a 3 X 5 notecard).
I envision the room being slightly eclectic. I plan on keeping the duvet and adding white to breakup all the color – White sheets, curtains, and a bedskirt. We also don’t have much brass throughout the house so I’m thinking about adding a touch of brass in this room, since brass has made a comeback!
My favorite piece? This pillow (hands down). When I came across this watercolor throw pillow it was gameover, you guys. The entire room came together in my mind when I saw this beaut. I mean, just look at it!
I am so excited to share the progress with y’all! I will be documenting the makeover on the blog, as well as on Instagram! I’d love for you to follow along!

Love it and the watercolor pillow speaks your name. Oh, maybe just one more throw pillow in another color(rose, white, taupe?).

I like your idea of adding a touch of brass. I never thought I’d be ready for its comeback, but the new brass seems less “brassy” than what was popular in the 90’s.
