This room has come a loooong way, you guys! I’m embarrassed to show y’all what it looked like before. The room had a ton of neutral colors (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing), but it had absolutely no white in it to break it up.
Centering the bed, adding white and black accents, and a bed frame made the world of difference. This room is slightly more modern / eclectic than the rest of the house but it also might be my fav! I think my style a changed a bit after redoing this room – I’m seeing that in the vision I have for the nursery.
What’s funny – This room ended up looking NOTHING like the design a shared with y’all HERE. It wasn’t until I bought a few things, then returned them that I actually nailed down a vision for this space. Now to the before and after pics!
BEFORE:
I warned you – It was bad. Definitely in need of a little TLC.
Now for the AFTER:
When tackling a space simplicity is key. This room feels “complete” yet it’s not packed with “stuff”. My style is simple, purposeful, and clean. I would rather it take twice as much time to style a space then to purchase items I’m not crazy about just to put the project behind me.
My advice – Practice patience when styling a room. Do not fill a room with pieces you don’t love because eventually you will come across that perfect piece and regret it (I’ve learned that the hard way a time or two).
(Almost) all of the products in this room are shown below.

I have a question, what are the dimensions of this room? I feel like it looks deceptively much larger than it did before.
