Our entryway is pretty small – Since the beginning, I have kept it simple with some wall hooks and a sign. I never thought it could be anything more because it is such a small space – That was until I had a dream! I’m no Martin Luther King but I did have a dream that I was painting again! You see, before I was ever into home decor, I was a painter. I sold my paintings in college and had an art room up until Bennett was born. Oh, the sacrifices we make for our kids, right?! 🙂
I truly believe the Lord speaks to us in our dreams so I have been trying to determine what I should paint and how I can get back into it. I had been thinking of putting removable wallpaper in the entryway but I said, “Heck! I could paint a design!” This way, I can save money, and get my creative juices flowing again.
All this to say – I came up with a design for our entryway that combines paint, new lighting, new wall hooks, and the same sign we’ve had up for a few years with a sweet daily reminder on it. I also plan on accomplishing all of this for less than $200. See budget breakdown below.
Entryway Refresh Budget

- 1 quart Sherwin Williams, Sea Serpent paint – $20

- Wall HooksWall Hooks – $40

Here’s a look at our entry “before” as well as the concept board I put together for it!
