We spent the last week at the cabin adding lots of color and layers to the space and I could not be happier! We try to come out to the cabin every few months and we usually touch up any scuffs on the wall and/or address any wear and tear but this time we tackled the fun stuff!
The living space at the cabin automatically has a ton of warmth and texture because of the wood panel ceiling. Right after we closed on the cabin we had the walls and trim all painted Alabaster, by Sherwin Williams. To add a pop of color to the space I put these (super affordable) blue linen curtains in the living room. They tie into the Etsy art prints perfectly!!! Even Brett agreed and he was skeptical initially of my curtain choice!
Our cabin is available to rent on AirBnb! Check out our listing HERE!
In the kitchen we updated the hardware with beautiful, and affordable brass knobs from Battle Creek Hardware. The gold knobs I put in here initially read yellow-green. I did not like them from day 1. The new Portland knobs are the perfect color and pair well with our green cabinets. Tina at Battle Creek Hardware was kind enough to give me a promo code to share with y’all – use code JAMIE for 15% off!
The majority of the changes took place in the bunk room. We added this khaki plaid rug (that’s also washable), it has a hint of orange in it so we installed these orange velvet curtains to tie it all together. The curtains add a fun texture (velvet) and the quality is so good! These two things made it feel more cabin-y and less kid-ish (if that makes sense 🙃).
The most exciting update to this room was these pennant flags (pennant 1, pennant 2)! The bunk room has an angled, vaulted ceiling and the space above the top bunk was empty. We had the pennant flags framed with custom frames from “Art to Frames”. The frames make the pennants stand out on the wall. I love Art to Frames because their frames ship quickly and they are reasonably priced. The Etsy prints in the living room I framed with Art to Frames, as well. Lastly, I swapped out our worn pouf for a more structured, tufted ottoman. The color pairs nicely with the bunk bed quilts and completes the reading nook!
Last bud not least, we FINALLY found the perfect piece for over the outdoor fireplace mantle!! Doxa Design, on Etsy, handmade this beautiful mountain scape for our fireplace. When we opened the box, we all gasped at just how beautiful this piece is. Truly a work of art and exactly what we needed in this space.
I’ve linked everything in the cabin below! Also, this place is available to rent! Check out our AirBnb listing!
