Summer is in full swing, folks (well, almost if you want to get technical)! I love changing things up around the house for the new season. It’s funny but a new vase, a new plant, fresh flowers, etc. can put me in a good mood! I walk in the house and exhale because it feels fresh and clean. Does this homebody good! Anyone else get this way?
Today I’m sharing a few simple and (inexpensive) ways to spruce up your home for the summer!
5 Ways to Spruce Up Your Home for Summer!
- Change up your throw pillows! Throw pillows are an easy (inexpensive) way to change up your decor. I never used to change up my throw pillows – I didn’t think it was possible to do so without breaking the bank. Boy was I wrong – This spring I updated our throw pillows for less than $100 and it made the world of difference. Here are a few of my favorite adorable throw pillows!
- Buy a new house plant! You don’t have to go out and buy a new, HUGE fiddle leaf fig – Buy something little. Adding a little green to your space is good for the soul. Here are a few of my favorite house plants!
- Ditch the heavy blankets & throws. That’s right – Time to put away the heavy cable knit throws and pillows. The things around your house that look cozy and warm, time to stash them away until cooler weather comes back around. Look for new lighter throws that don’t look as heavy and add a pop of color!
- Purchase a new vessel! This could be a vase, or a pot – Something bright and new to spruce up the place!
- Purge! Now’s the time to purge, you guys! Clean out the closet, the pantry, the basement – I dread it too but the feeling afterward is so good!
Making small updates / changes to your home every season keeps you loving your space. If you neglect updating your home…years down the road you need a complete overhaul. Make small changes along the way to avoid a massive remodel!
I want to hear from y’all now! What changes do you make around your home to spruce up your house for spring / summer?
